WEC 36 Postponed Due to Hurricane Ike
Sherdog has the scoop:
That's a total drag, let's hope this is the worst damage Ike causes. I don't know about you, but I'm sick of hurricanes.Hurricane Ike -- a Category 3 storm with sustained wins of 115 miles per hour that could threaten South Florida by the middle of next week -- forced the postponement of WEC 36 on Friday in Hollywood, Fla.
The event, originally scheduled for Sept. 10, was moved to Nov. 5

Dude...
Two months? That seems pretty wild. Sonnen is never going to get his rematch.

This sucks. I was just getting psyched for this show when I saw this at MMA Junkie. I am glad that the WEC and officials in Florida are acting early in taking precautions.

Haha, maybe Ike's taking orders from Dana.
Don’t want to make light of the situation, people get killed in these storms, yada yada yada, but this really does make for a picture-perfect scenario in which WEC can pimp UFC 91.
There is no such thing as innocence, only degrees of guilt.

Damn
I was really looking forward to this.. probably more than the next UFC fight night. Pulver/Garcia, Rosholt, Faber, Filho/Sonnen II.

You're sick of hurricanes?
I live 10 miles from the Gulf Coast – My house was the only one not to flood in our neighborhood during Gustav. The sheriff essentially locked down our parish after dusk to prevent looting. We were without power, water, or sewer systems for days. The scary part is we were lucky to have this little damage! Now Ike’s in the gulf scaring the crap out of us and already caused WEC to be canceled! How much worse will it get?
