When was this interview?
Cause I was expecting questions/reaction to the news yesterday? This interview did not deliver :( I have to admit, I’m not a fan of listening to this guy talk.

What a wank
Dana White threatens to dominate an entire sport NFL-style, and this is the best capitalism can come up with. Pitiful.
The UFC is the Major Leagues of MMA.

Personally...
I prefer a cage. I wish it was a standard really. That way the casual fan sees the caje and automatically knows, hey this is MMA. But thats just me.
Poor Tom, so mant haters but the guy is doing the best he can IMO. Its too bad that it looks like hes trying too hard in his interviews. I hope Tito does end up with Affliction rather than EXC since I’m much more interested in what Affliction is doing.

I’ve seen too many questionable events with a ring to ever be a fan of it. Stopping a fight, resetting the fighters (when on the ground) and restarting the fight seems beyond silly to me. I wish that could be done in a street fight.

i agree the cage should be part of the MMA rules The ring has too many stops and changes the whole fight…i like how he said if we are here in the long term then quickly switched it haha..if UFC would of put on the Same Card that Affliction did it would have sold over 500,000 buys easy instead of 50,000 seems without them three little letters on your product your destined to fail

He used having Megadeth play as an example of how original and great they are.

Barnett was the youngest heavyweight champion in history.....
“… at the age of 21 he beat Randy Couture”
Oops…
He forgot to mention that Barnett was later stripped of the title for testing positive for steroids.

Steroids? I thought he tested positive for Ripped Fuel. lol

Uhh...
It’s a little naive to assume that Couture never once used such substances? Remember that formerly there was no moral issue over performance enhnancement. Despite the “good guy” aura that Randy rubs off onto the media – and he very well may be that guy, I guess – it is quite possible for anyone to justify steroid use. It’s not like people who take it are like “Yeah, Steroids, I hope I don’t get caught because I’m gonna mess some ****ers up!” There’s always a reason, and they always feel justified in doing it. That is the same reason everybody who has been getting caught appeals it.
So pretty much my point is that you shouldn’t discount Barnett’s ninja dispatch of Couture just because he was juiced. Couture probably was also.

Of course I should, Barnett was tested by the Nevada commision and found to be possitive. How ridiculous is to say that all fighters should thought to be dirty?

Umm they tested Randy that fight as well. No steriods. Forget Barnett though, too much debate. If Ricco proved big enough to pound Randy out and send him to the lhw’s, how does he calculate Brocks size and strength? Everyone here remembers why he moved down in weight, Randy himself said it. Plus if you look at his record he never has fought huge guys and when he has, he for the most part has lost. This is a piss poor match-up for Couture. The only thing going for him is Brocks inexperience.

I would say Sylvia and GG are both pretty big dudes, but I see your point. The thing is, physically, who isn’t a poor matchup with Lesner.

I would have said Bigfoot had he not had his recent problems. However I think Carwin and Cain could be two. Randy needs to fight at lhw in my mind. Tim was easy for Couture, Randy doesn’t get KO’ed and he wins. I know there was the Gonzaga fight, but Gonzaga got his nose broke/shattered in the first by an illegal headbutt. That makes it really hard to breath. Randy’s only advantage against Brock is experience in mma, we’ll see if that’s enough. One strike to Coutures jaw like Brock did to Herring’s eye and you can call it a night. This guy made Herring look small and weak at 6’4 250lbs. All we’ll see is size advantage over 6’1 225 Couture. I guess that would make people excuse him if/when he loses.

Yeah, I saw Carwin fight when he was over 300lbs, and he was my first thought, but he just doesn’t look as freakishly big under 265. Freakin’ Lesner looks ridiculous in there. When he had HH in the guillotine, it looked so surreal. And like you said, HH is a big dude.
I think this will be his biggest asset. Being that big and strong, while having that speed and explosion…scary! I wonder what Brock weighs at fight time?

If guys GSP and Anderson Silva’s size can walk in weighing 10-15lbs heavier then weigh-in, I imagine Lesnar can walk in 285 or more. He looked ripped at the weigh-in.

Anyone who thinks it was a headbutt
REALLLLLLLLY needs to watch the replays or gifs of the event. His nose was CLEARLY broken by his own knee. Had GG not ILLEGALLY held the fence when being taken down, it never would have happened.

280 is what they reported against HH..

Tom is a classy guy. I like the way he did not get down in the mud with Dana. I hope Affliction in the end survives. It is so important to have rival organizations.

Affliction is already dead. They just don’t know it yet. Good riddance.
