Aleksander Emelianenko to Fight on Affliction Card in January?

62869_medium_mediumFighters Only magazine is reporting that Fedor's little brother will be fighting in the U.S. on the January Affliction card. He denies that there was any medical reason behind his not being licensed last time:

He was scheduled to appear on Affliction’s first show in June but was removed from the card at the last minute by the California State Athletic Commission.

CSAC never revealed a specific reason for the removal but rumours circulated that Emelianenko had been found to have Hepatitis B.

"That is not true, these rumours about medical problems are not true," he stated. "I was removed from the card because of problems with my paperwork."

"My visa came late for the USA, I arrived two days late and it meant that I could not complete necessary paperwork on time.

This directly contradicts statements from the California State Athletic Commission's Bill Douglas:

"The one thing that I can absolutely say is that he (Emelianenko) was not and will not be cleared to fight in California. He is officially denied a license and that will stand for all of the United States of America".

Guess we'll find out in January who's zooming who.

I wouldn’t want to fight him. Maybe its true that the Hep B positives were just rumor, but damned if I’d chance that…

I doubt it would be a rumor because then Mr. Douglas would be open to some serious litigation if he was incorrect. Making a rumor like that could be devastating to a fighters career.

Douglas could not be open to any litigation. The AC never said he had Hep. People said he had Hep, the AC said he won’t get licensed. 1 +2 = 3, but the AC hasn’t (and won’t because of privacy issues) say that Aleks has Hep, whether he does or not.

The only thing I can think of is the Vitamin C technique someone brought up a while back.

It also directly conflicts with what Mark Hominick wrote in his blog. He said: “Today I had to get up a 6am to finish up medicals, which was a bit of a pain since I had already done them in Canada but the California Athletic Commision would not accept forms done by Canadian doctors for some reason. Nevertheless, I cruised around with Fedor’s brother all morning getting meds done which was an experience. He was pretty interesting guy but very nice, an example is when he gave me his hat as a gift.”

So Mark was able to get his medicals done in time but Aleks, who was with Mark, medicals were late? Doesn’t make sense to me.
