Arlovski vs. Roy Nelson added to CBS card
This EliteXC/Affliction co-promotion on CBS is getting heavy advertisement during the football games today, and it's shaping up to be a hot card with the addition of Arlovski vs. Nelson:
Former UFC heavyweight champ Andrei "The Pit Bull" Alrovski has been added to the Oct. 4 CBS Fight Night. The Affliction fighter will take on Roy Nelson in the EliteXC fight card that is headlined by Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson and Ken Shamrock. Welterweight champ Jake Shields will also defend his belt against Paul Daley on the same card.
Some are saying that this co-promotion could be a preview to Fedor vs. Kimbo:
It's what this fight means for the future of EliteXC and Affliction that has me counting the days to Oct. 4. Affliction's willingness to sublease Arlovski and Nelson puts fans a step closer to seeing, perhaps, the biggest fight to be made in mixed martial arts today – Fedor Emelianenko against Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson.
With both promotions struggling, this could be the last, desperate attemps to form some kind of counter-MMA entity that could post a credible threat to UFC's hegemony and deep talent pool. If nothing else, I'm looking forward to another free night of MMA.

It should be noted also that Roy Nelson found out on very short notice about this fight. He was scheduled to fight Paul Buentello on an Oct 11th undercard, and suddenly finds himself fighting Arlovski a week sooner. Now that’s a kick in the teeth. If ever you wanted to root for an underdog… lol
