Fight Quest - Season 2 Premiere

While changing the channel after the American Presidential Debate to avoid the horrendous spin from reporters, I stumbled upon new episodes of Fight Quest on the Discovery Channel.

Fight Quest features two martial artists, Jimmy Smith and Doug Anderson, as they travel around the world exploring various civilizations' fighting styles, each episode ending with sparring matches against experienced practitioners.  Although it debuted after Human Weapon, is superior in that both hosts are competent fighters, and it wasn't canceled.

Tonight's (26 Sept) episodes feature Muay Thai and Kalarippayattu, an Indian martial art that was eventually brought to China by monks, where it became Kung Fu.

I highly recommend the show as it deals with the historical and spiritual side of the fighting arts, but not at the expense of good fisticuffs.
