I wonder how Wandy will fare against Rampage when he is not juicing like he was in Pride. There is a noticeable difference in the way both Wandy & Shogun fought in Pride compared to now in the UFC. Neither of them seem to be anywhere near as intense & have that killer look in their eyes.

Joe Silva loves the hardcore fans.

Rampage vs. the monkey on his back
Super psyched for this fight. I think the Octagon will make a big difference and Rampage will finally defeat the ax murderer.

My money is on Thiago and Rampage. I can’t stand Machida.

Learn a lesson here kids: don’t bet with your heart.
Almost everyone WANTS to see Machida lose, but betting against him? Not such a good idea….

god I hope Thiago GNP’s Silva into oblivion. I mean, Silva is talented no question, but come on…where is the agression? He’s going for W’s with zero passion along the way IMO. I hope Thiago punches a hole through his face..

Sherdoggification
Wanderlei and Shogun juicing in PRIDE based on current supposed lack of intensity and “killer look”? Betting based on emotion and not facts? Accusing Machida of completely lacking passion and aggression?
BE is not Sherdog. Try not to make any more of these senseless statements.

Are you really going to say that Wandy & Shogun A) were not way bigger when they were in Pride and B) had so much more aggression & endurance in those fights. Go back and look at their size and compare them to today. It is not a workout change. I have seen many people juicing and believe me you can tell just by looking at their body. Guys that left Pride have come out publicly and said they “were not tested” and that guys juiced up & took amphetamines prior to fights. All that Pride wanted was action, hence deducting purses for inactivity.

Well, at least you cited more substantial evidence than just intensity and killer look. But Wanderlei did look great in the Jardine fight and Octagon jitters may have played a bigger part in Silva’s somewhat lacklustre showing against Chuck. The bottom line is that without hard, solid evidence you just can’t outright say that Wanderlei juiced. You can say that he probably or maybe juiced but not definitely.

I agree with that statement,
but it just seems strange that two fighters from the same team who were absolute monsters in Pride, have yet to show any real fire in the UFC. Wandy looked good, but when he was in the Pride ring he looked like he was going to tear your head off, murder the ref & do your wife while you both were laying in the ring. Just my opinion.

Look guys, it’s pretty widely known that young brazilian fighters are on the juice from the get go at an early age. It’s part of their training. Add to the fact that Pride didn’t screen for steroids you can draw your own conclusions about fighters in the shows.

My point exactly,
and the ones that were truly elevated because of steroids are now being exposed in regulated arenas. They cannot duplicate that same intensity, motor and aggression without them.

So then...
if PRIDE was obviously and notoriously the “wild, wild west” with no testing and everyone was juicing, Rampage had all the same “advantages” that everyone else did. Therefore the playing field was just as level as it is now and he got absolutely destroyed by both Silva and Rua.
As for “look at their sizes” – Silva and Shogun aren’t really discernably different physically then they were in PRIDE at all, in fact Silva look the same as always in the Jardine fight. The MAJOR difference is they were fighting without much weight cutting and against guys who weren’t cutting much either. In the UFC they are fighting guys that would have been HW’s in Japan (Griffin, Jardine, Liddell all walk around at 230-240), thus why they “appear” to be smaller.
I really don’t see there being a big difference, since they are again going to be on equal footing. Yes, the rules will likely be more favourable to Jackson, but Jackson isn’t the “slam master” anymore anyways and prefers a more classic boxing approach. If anything, Silva has a better “team” this time around in terms of all around training and preparation with Xtreme Couture and has now been acclimated to the UFC environment. Jackson on the otherhand is training with Wolfslair UK, coming off a clearly mentally draining loss as well as his personal issues.
