Local MMA Alert: Urijah Faber to Make Appearance at UWC:Confrontation on October 11th

As if there wasn't reason enough to attend, WEC Featherweight champion Urijah Faber will be in attendance and signing autographs/taking pictures with fans. I believe - but need to confirm - that he'll be doing so from 4pm to 6pm the day of the fights at the Patriot Center. Faber will join WEC Welterweight champion Carlos Condit and UFC middleweight contender Nate Marquardt.

Just remember: MMA in its upper echelons is still accessible. I encourage everyone to take advantage of that access when you can. If you're in the DC area (or want to make the trek), this is the perfect opportunity.

I love the way we have access to all of these guys so frequently. I had a friend who recently went to Vegas for a UFC event brought me back autographs from both Chuck & Randy on the 3rd fight promo sheet.

Lucky you…went I went to UFC 88 in ATL earlier this month…the fighters didn’t come out and mingle like they do in Vegas at the casino’s :(

I know, me and my girlfriend were surprised he was able to get one. Funny story, one of the guys that was with my friend met Randy and asked him “who are you”? Randy just laughed and signed anyway

I’ve heard that happens to fighters all the time. Folks see somebody getting an autograph and suddenly 10 people want one, regardless of if they even know who they’re getting an autograph from. Lemmings!

Anyway, I’m hoping to make it down to the UWC. Gotta convince my ex at GMU to let me stay with her…
