Uwc_confrontation_medium For folks in the metro Washington, DC area, take notice:

DC’s only all pro MMA ultimate cage-fighting event will broadcast on Comcast SportsNet this Saturday, Sept. 20 and again on Saturday, Oct. 4. Both shows start at 11pm.  Catch the MMA event that everybody in DC is talking about.  Don’t miss every powerful strike, submission and take down from inside the cage.  Nine thrilling fights that capture the spirit of the world’s hottest sport plus special guest appearances by superstars Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, Andrei "The Pitbull" Arlovski, Carlos "The Natural Born Killer" Condit, Mauricio "Shogun" Rua, Brandon "The Truth" Vera and Hermes Franca.

Remember, the next event on October 11th is UWC: Confrontation (the poster to the left). If you want to get a taste of what the event will look and feel like, then last April's UWC: Invasion is the event to watch.

So for those of us in the area with Verizon FiOS… Mid-Atlantic Sports Net channel maybe?

Oh, and what’s your level of involvement, Luke? Will we be hearing your dulcet tones doing commentary on this show?

Good question

I’m not on this show. This is the one from back in April and Frank Trigg was the color commentator. I’ll be doing those duties for the event next month.

Strange as it might seem, it appears that Verizon carries Comcast SportsNet… Go figure!

The show featured one of the most brutal knockouts ever (Woods v. Stalling) as well as Mike Easton. Watch it.

But skip the Carlo Prater v. Marcelo Brito fight.

That was brutal. Slamming somebody who has you in an armbar is a risky move, but DAMN it paid off for him.

What the hell was up with the Cher talk? Jeez.

Also, I like the cheap Ikea stool.
