I actually dont see this being that close for some reason. Seems Maia will have his way with Quarry no problems.
Classic match-up between striker and grappler
I’ll keep my money in my pocket on this one.
I still do not understand MacDonald’s game plan going into the fight with Maia. Hopefully Quarry doesn’t make the same mistake. Ill put a few bucks on Quarry assuming he doesn’t try to roll with Maia.
Mac’s gameplan was to keep it standing; he just didn’t follow it. You could hear his corner between rounds pleading with him to stand and punch, use kicks to create distance, and try and knock Maia out. After the fight, Mac wrote in his blog on Sportsnet that he was embarassed and had no idea why he kept going into the clinch and going to the ground. That’s also why he took the fight with Lambert on short notice with less than a month off – he wanted a chance to redeem himself.
This card just keeps getting better!
Hell even the preliminary card looks great. Can’t wait. UFC 89 looks so boring in comparison.
I say put the winner of this fight against Marquardt/Okami/Henderson for the right to face Silva. I think Marquardt could take Silva in a rematch. Have Silva fight a few dream matches at 205 until they can find a suitable challenger for him at 185..
Silva vs. Chuck would be a great way to capitalize on what's left of Chuck's star.
He’ll always be a draw, but eventually he’ll be a Mark Coleman-type of draw. He’s plummeting to that status as we speak, and while I’m not an expert and won’t predict how long it takes to reach that point, I think he’s closer to Coleman than he is to his peak.
There is no such thing as innocence, only degrees of guilt.
