Gary Ibarra: The list of people who were contestants or who have been coaches previously reads like an A list in the UFC: Liddell, Couture, Ortiz, Shamrock, Penn, Pulver, Griffin, and Jackson to name a few. Most of these guys are surefire Hall of Famers. Do you think adding Mir to this list means that you will be there as well?

Frank Mir: Yeah, I would say I will. Obviously it’s going to depend on my next couple of performances, but I do think my name belongs with those others, absolutely.

If you’re throwing Griffin on that list of “surefire Hall of Famers” then I think Mir definitely belongs there. I mean, people are quick to call him over-the-hill, but this guy is what, 6 weeks older than Forrest? He’ll always be remembered for those wins of Sylvia, Tank and Lesnar, right?

I don’t mean to suggest that I think he belongs in the Hall of Fame, but he’s done as much to earn it as Forrest, right?

The line in the quote says “Most of these guys are sure fire hall of famers” not all and even if you dont think that Forrest will end up in the HOF you would have to admit he is an A list fighter which is the category he was being included in from my reading of it.

I loved 'Crazy Horse' Bennett

Dude had knockout power, no fear, and the only double front kick with his arms on the ropes in the corner I’ve ever seen in an MMA fight. MMA means MIXED martial arts – and if a badass street brawler can beat all the scholars and BJJ experts, then so fucking be it. I hope (read: know) someone with skill can (read: will) fuck Kimbo up, but if they can’t? If he goes on a rampage and beats everyone? I won’t have a bad word to say about him.

Hall of fame? We will see I guess. Personally I think his fight against Nog will be a great one. I don’t see this as a gimme for BN, as everyone else does. Mir’s ground game is awesome and that’s where this fight is going. I will look forward to see if Big Nog catches Mir’s bad leg, just how fast will he tap?
