"--Dana White said this morning that they will be dedicating Wednesday night's live show on Spike from Omaha, headlined by Houston Alexander vs. Eric Schafer, to Evan Tanner and that they will be airing an Evan Tanner TV tribute show on Spike. White said they've also put together 30 second tribute spots for Tanner that will be airing soon."

They’ve changed the headlining fight like 5 times now.

Does it really matter which of these fights is “headlining” a SpikeTV card?

You misunderstand my point. I fully intend to watch and am looking forward to these fights. I was just questioning the importance of the distinction of headlining.

I know what you mean.
It’s on SpikeTV, it’s a free UFC event. I’ll watch regardless of who headlines to tell the truth.
On the Tanner note, it’s nice they’re finally going to do something.
Good news.
Good to see they do the right thing.

GREAT news, and something off topic
i figured they’d piece together some tribute pieces. glad they’ll be paying their respects.
anyone else notice how they’ve been running promos for ufc 90 (silva vs cote) with almost no mention of the uk ufc 89 card? i know it’s not a ppv, but damn.
That’s a nice gesture.
It would also be nice if they put together a DVD comp of Tanner’s UFC career with proceeds going to his next of kin. In addition to helping out any family he may have had, it would also help fans learn about him as a fighter, since I’m sure there are a lot of current UFC fans that only know of Evan from his fights with Okami and Grove.
