I Need To See Marquardt vs. Henderson

Basically because I can’t see Franklin/Henderson at the moment…this is the next best match up.  Marquardt just destroyed Martin Kampmann and Henderson danced by Rousimar Palhares…both fights took place at UFC 88.  Anderson Silva is set to defend his MW title against undeserving Patrick Cote at UFC 90.  Barring another upset, Silva will walk thru Cote leaving him without a worthy challenger at MW.  Granted, Silva has defeated both Henderson and Marquardt relatively easily already…I’m not THAT positive he could do it so easily again.  Then again he just might be THAT good..

If Anderson Silva were to fight Hendo or Nate – he would not win as easily.

I like the idea of Hendo and Nate fighting but I’d rather see Almeida fight Nate.

f Anderson Silva were to fight Hendo or Nate – he would not win as easily.

Why not?
People didn’t think he’d win as easily as he did the first time, either.
People didn’t think he’d walk through Franklin as easily the second time, either.
People didn’t think he’d walk through Irvin at LHW as easily as he did, either.

So far I’ve seen absolutely nothing to make me think that a second time around with Hendo or Nate would differ significantly than the first time around. What are you basing your thought to the contrary on?

Well…usually when a fighter loses to someone…they make adjustments to their gameplans. I didn’t say they would beat Silva…I said I didn’t think he would win as easily.

I think that Hendo and Nate will put up a different fight the second time around.

They’d have more footage to put together a game plan.

Well Almeida is coming off a loss…so that fight doesn’t do anything for Marquardt.

I understand, I think it would be a good match up style wise.

I really like Almeida and want to see him in contention I guess.

Good article.

Oh, I agree…just keeping it in perspective though in terms of ways to advance to a title shot….thanks!
