International Fight League light heavyweight champion Vladimir Matyushenko will likely meet Pride Fighting Championships veteran Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at Affliction "Day of Reckoning" on Oct. 11 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
Sources close to the promotion confirmed the fight has been offered to both parties, though Matyushenko’s management declined to comment on the proposed matchup.
I really like this fight. Matyushenko won a decision over Nogueira back in 2002, but has improved leaps and bounds in those 6 years. He's been tucked away in the IFL for the past two. I'm excited to see how he shapes up against some like Nogueira who is always in or around the top 10 and brings a good fight.
