Benji Radach vs. "Ninja" Rua on EliteXC's October 4th CBS Show
Another IFL refugee has found a home, as former Los Angeles Anacondas middleweight Benji Radach confirmed to Sherdog yesterday that he has inked a three-fight deal with EliteXC. The floundering brand will waste no time in putting their new acquisition to work, either: Radach says he's scheduled to take on PRIDE veteran Murilo "Ninja" Rua on EliteXC's third CBS-televised show. The heavy-handed Radach (18-4-0) went on a 5-1 tear during his single year in the IFL, his most recent bout being a derailing KO loss to underdog Matt Horwich at the IFL World Grand Prix Finals. His Brazilian opponent, meanwhile, dropped his first EliteXC scrap to current champ Robbie Lawler*, but returned in June with a decisive first round TKO over dubious prospect Tony Bonello.
With the exception of Kimbo Slice's as-yet-unnamed opponent, the card for October 4th now seems all but settled:
Kimbo Slice vs. TBA
Paul "Semtex" Daley vs. Jake Shields (Welterweight Championship Bout)
Kelly Kobold vs. Gina Carano
Benji Radach vs. Murilo "Ninja" Rua
* UPDATE: Speaking of Robbie Lawler, MMAJunkie is reporting that EliteXC is considering a title fight between him and Joey Villasenor for their November 8th Showtime card, after Villasenor's headlining ShoXC gig for September 20th was cancelled earlier this month.

about as good as possible
Given that they have to have Kimbo and Gina on the card, the other two fights are respectable if not barn burners.

Good Card. Any idea when we’ll know who kimbo is fighting?

Junkie says it could be announced today. At the very least they’ve got to finalize something this week.

This is actually a pretty good card, regardless of who Kimbo fights (as long as it isn’t Gannon, because I really just want to see him lose). If they can push Villasenor vs Smith onto this card, it’ll really be something.

Kimbo vs Shamrock
That is what I hear will be the fight.
Overall, it is a really really solid card that will intrigue both the hard core fans and the casual fans.

That...
is what I’m hearing as well. Not from anyone who I would consider to be a “major source on the inside” but from a contact who usually “hears these things” before anyone else.

I have a lot of difficulty putting Lawler in the top-5 MWs if they can’t find anybody in the top ten to ever fight him. Beating Ninja Rua, Scott Smith and Joey Villasenor is not the test of a champion.
