I can’t remember the last time i’ve seen Rich Franklin without a black eye.

Yeah, what the Hell is the deal with that?
Does he have some kind of issue that won;t allow this to clear up?

I bruised insanely easily
when I was wrestling in HS. I usually looked like a raccoon, and there wasn’t much cross-facing on our team. My legs would look like I’d been hit by less-lethal buckshot at 20 yards, too. There are lots of reasons for easy bruising, the most likely culprits being malnutrition and a weak/impaired liver, if I remember correctly.

Yeah, i bruise easily as well, especially where guys grab the insides of my arms, but Franklin’s bruise never changes, lol. I think it has been like that since the first beatdown from Silva. i was just wondering if there was some permanent damage done or something. I know it takes longer to heal when you are training constantly, but this is crazy.

I wouldn't think there's any way that he could have a permanent bruise
under his eye there, since the only people I’ve seen with bruises like that are really old, with increasingly fragile skin caused by corticosteroid use.
No, these are not the steroids that you would take for getting ripped. They’re the ones people take to suppress immunological response, such as during anaphylaxis or with chronic bronchial constriction.
But in the soft tissues there, I don’t now why it would persist. I’d think the vascularity would be good enough in there to allow the body to reabsorb the bruise quickly, but I guess some people wear those things for a long time.
