"I might be a little biased because Forrest is a good friend and training partner, but in my opinion Forrest won the fight hands down, three rounds to two. He outworked him from beginning to end, and even though not everything he threw landed, at least he fought the whole time instead of just looking for one big shot. You know, Forrest trained hard for this fight and it showed. He was training in the gym everyday, not running around with a chain around his neck, telling people he's a thug."

For a person who is a teammate of the winner, Danzig sounds awfully defensive…and the jab at Rampage is both cheap and completely inaccurate.

Danzig is an Idiot Anyway

He showed on TUF that he likes to run his mouth & is both agressive and overly sensitive at the same time … translation – a bully.
To his credit, he’s been able to back up most of his trash talking about his opponents, but in this case he’s simply showing his true self,,, an ill- informed, cheapshot taking fool. The only value he’s bringing to the UFC is being the guy everyone wants to hate & root against.

Danzig probably feels safe talking shit, because he and Rampage are so far apart in size. He won’t ever have to face him in the Octagon. When he was on TUF, he always seemed so condescending. Danzig’s above quote is stupid and baseless. What else can you say?

Is he contending that Rampage, in lieu of training for his fight, walked the streets with his chain on and tried to convince people he’s a thug? Shouldn’t Forrest have easily dispatched such an untrained and unfocused opponent?

Funny thing is....

The funny thing is Rampage never wanted that image for himself. He has stated in several interviews that it was PRIDE that started the “homeless thug” image that has somehow stuck to him and followed him throughout his career. They were trying to create and sell a character when he came in to fight Sakuraba. Sure in the beginning he perpetrated it, you would to if you were that young and needed the money. But Rampage is one of the nicest and classiest guys in the sport, and Danzig just showed he is a classless B-level fighter. Randy should handle this situation, because it reflects badly on him and his gym as well as Danzig himself. This is a little event, btu the type of thing that we as fans and caretakers of the sport are trying to prevent happenening so the sport can continue to blossom and take on new fans.
