TODAY on MMA Nation on 106.7 WJFK: Heath Herring, Michael Rome
Saturday on "MMA Nation" we'll be talking to "The Texas Crazy Horse" Heath Herring as he readies himself for a showdown with Brock Lesnar at UFC 87: Seek and Destroy. We'll ask Heath about training with Rob Kaman, his thoughts on the Affliction show and whether wrestlers have an advantageous style when fighting him.
We'll also be talking to Bloody Elbow Staff Writer Michael Rome who attended the Affliction show last weekend. We'll talk about the difference between the live and televised experience, where Affliction goes from here and whether the event was a success.
"MMA Nation" airs every Saturday 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on 106.7 WJFK. To listen live over the Internet, go to WJFK's website and click "Listen Live".

women mma fans
I don’t think that was a good sample of women mma fans. in general very few women listen to wjfk. So it’s not that they are avoiding or turning off MMA nation they just don’t listen to the station.I dont’ think those girls who called in were actually mma fans. Most of them just sounded like their boyfriend told them to call and tried to help them answer the question.
Or maybe i’m just an exception…i love mma and listen to wjfk.

![A little publicity for me today in the Washington City Paper. To wit:
But listening to Kinard, it sounds like management has decided Thomas can transcend his surroundings.
"We thought we’d experiment with some different kinds of shows last year, and of all of them, MMA Nation is the only one that lasted," Kinard says. "I wasn’t aware of anybody else doing [an MMA show]. And [in April] he outperformed our normal weekend ratings by more than double. We started out thinking this has the potential to be a nationally syndicated show, and that’s still our plan. You see MMA all over the place on TV, so why not on the radio?"
I hate to be over the top with the self-promotion, but no one is going to hand me the job and career I'm after. I want to work in MMA full time and the fact is I have to make it happen for myself. Thank you to everyone who has ever shown me an ounce of support towards the pursuit of that dream.
