The UFC's Use of IFL Footage
Did anyone else notice last night that not only did the UFC use footage from Reese Andy's IFL fights in the opening introductory reel, but that the Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg talked openly about many of the fighters' experiences in the organization? That doesn't necessarily prove the UFC has purchased the organization, but it certainly adds some weight to the speculation. I'm traveling today and don't have the time to investigate with current IFL officials, but I suspect Sam Caplan might. Stay tuned.
Speaking of which, the IFL veterans turned in decent performances overall last night. Not all of them won, but none showed themselves to be incompetent or undeserving of the opportunity to fight in the UFC. Congratulations to them all.

Goldberg also mentioned Cung Le’s name a couple of times – he may even have described him as one of the best at welterweight but I can’t remember for sure. Still, I thought it was cool to acknowledge his presence.

Was it just me, or did he call him Tung Le?

He referred to Le more than once, so he may have called him Tung once, but I didn’t notice it if he did.

Cung Le reference
Goldy (not Goldberg) said a fighter was training with Cung Le in striking and aknowledged him as one of the “world’s best.” And then they also pointed him out between rounds in the corner when they were listening in.
With fighters in several different organizations sharing camps, many of them (Tito, Randy) in the coaching role, it’s going to be increasingly hard to freeze fighters out. And that’s a good thing.

There is a minor typo in there, “Not all of them one.”
You said you were traveling and are probably in a hurry, so that is all.

Forget the event, I noticed that during the Countdown.

Exactly
In the countdown show they had a ton of IFL footage. Thought that was extremely interesting the moment I saw it. I also thought it was extremely interesting that the mentioned Cung Le a few times on the show. Something is definitely in the works. I can’t ever remembering Goldy mention any fighters outside the UFC. Joe would occassionally, but not Goldy.

That'd be the rumors of the pending UFC purchase of the IFL

![According to this translation of a passage from Takanori Gomi's blog, the Japanese lightweight free agent has been in talks with Zuffa while in Las Vegas for the Pacquiao-Cotto fight, aided by his friend Tito Ortiz. Gomi says that if talks with Zuffa fall through, Strikeforce is another option, and that he wants to have a deal in place to start the new year.

[UPDATE] It looks like the post has gone missing from Gomi's blog (that, or the quote was fabricated), so take this with a grain of salt for now. However, Gomi was most definitely in Las Vegas this past weekend for the big fight.](http://cdn3.sbnation.com/fan_shot_images/86199/20091102045748_200910302479_small.jpg)
