Quote of the Day: Brock Lesnar Talks About Safety in MMA
"Just like football, basketball or hockey, the risk of getting injured in competition is there. But everybody that gets in the octagon is very well-trained. Also, in this sport, if I feel like my arm's going to get snapped, I can tap out before I get injured. In other sports, I don't have that option.
If a linebacker's coming across and I'm carrying the ball, I don't have the opportunity to stop. I've been hurt more as a pro wrestler and as an amateur wrestler than I have in this. I was hurt more as a pro wrestler than anything else, because I worked 300 nights a year and they didn't care if I was hurt or not."
-- Brock Lesnar, answering the question, "How dangerous is a UFC match?" Lesnar will be taking on Team Punishment's Justin McCully Heath Herring at UFC 87 in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 9th.

nice quote
I think Lesnar is great for MMA—not only for his ability to attract other fans to this sport.
The biggest knock on MMA has been that it is ‘too violent’. Although others in the sport have tried to explain that it is a ‘controlled violence’, their words have usually fallen on deaf ears. Because of Lesnar’s past success in both NCAA and WWE, his statements will probably be considered more credible.

Ummm
Success in WWE? Shouldn’t we attribute that to the script-writers? And in that case, shouldn’t his statements only be considered credible if they were written by the same writers that worked for WWE?
