TODAY on MMA Nation on 106.7 WJFK: Jordan Breen, Michael Lynch, Pat Miletich and Seph Smith
TODAY on "MMA Nation" we'll be talking to Sherdog writer and radio personality Jordan Breen. He'll be giving us an exclusive look into the Brad McCray situation and why he was ultimately released from Sherdog after only 5 weeks on the job.
We'll also be talking to WAMMA Chief Operating Officer Michael Lynch and legendary fighter/coach Pat Miletch. I'll ask them about how WAMMA plans to succeed in a world where the UFC doesn't acknowledge their existence.
In the entire second hour, Seph Smith (Sambo black belt, Judo brown belt, BJJ purple belt under Lloyd Irvin) will join us in studio to technically breakdown the fights on the Affliction and UFC cards.
"MMA Nation" airs every Saturday 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on 106.7 WJFK. To listen live over the Internet, go to WJFK's website and click "Listen Live".

Wow, Breen is dropping serious bombs on Brad McCray. Glad I tuned in early.

Yeah, sucks that this is “news”, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t interested. Breen handled the situation as well as possible too, I thought.

Definitely. And I should have said “truth bombs,” he obviously wasn’t trying to slander dude.

There was a lot to it, and seemed like there might be some other details he couldn’t get to for various reasons, but I think the gist of it is that McCray really wasn’t qualified for the job. His knowledge of MMA wasn’t up to snuff and he didn’t have the time or motivation to really fulfill the roles of the executive editor position. He gave some examples of McCray not knowing who Josh Thomson was and asking TJ on air if Kimbo was EliteXC’s heavyweight champ. And if he’s getting that stuff wrong, he obviously lacks a significant amount of international MMA knowledge required for the job. There were also issues with his actual abilities as an editor, which apparently were poor.
Breen said Sherwood didn’t want to talk about it because McCray specifically asked him not to, so as not to hinder his chances of getting jobs elsewhere (be it in the MMA community or not). So, the fact that McCray leaked what appears to be false information about his release is disconcerting.
Apparently Sherdog’s parent company aren’t super MMA savvy, so that was part of the problem with why he was hired (Breen also notes that the parent company is great, they just aren’t an MMA company).
Important to note that Breen thought McCray was a good guy and they got along on a personal level.
