Norifumi "KID" Yamamoto Out of DREAM.5
Nightmare of Battle has the scoop:
More bad news. KID injured his right knee in training and won’t fight at DREAM.5. This injury might take half a year to heal.
No word on whether scheduled opponent and Urijah Faber training partner Joseph Benavidez will get a late replacement or if he's completely scrapped from the card.
I actually had some high hopes for this fight. I didn't care about the particular match-up itself, just the possibilities a Yamamoto win could bring. I realize the logistics of making a Faber-Yamamoto fight are exceedingly difficult, but a dominating win over Faber's friend and training partner would've added at least some kind of fuel to the fire.
Something, anything to get us closer to that dream match-up. Oh well. Speedy recovery, KID.
[UPDATE] by Nick Thomas - Alistair "Demolition Man" Overeem (27-11-0) has been confirmed as the opponent for Mark Hunt (5-3-0) at Dream 5 from Osaka, Japan this Monday.

Terrible news about KID, but that’s a GREAT addition to make up for it.
Good thing Overeem stepped up, I was worried FEG might put Benavidez in there against Hunt.

Benavidez will probably fight Takeshi Yamazaki if Hideo Tokoro is unable to fight because of the injury from the car accident yesterday.
