Rampage Jackson Interview From Yesterday

The day before the incident in Newport Beach, Quinton Jackson gave an interview to MMA Throwdown.  I think he sounds absolutely terrible and depressed here, but others think he sounds okay.

Come one man, that’s how Rampage sounds in every interview.

Stop looking deeper into what went down today with him until it comes out in the court room.

I wish Rampage the best. He’s an awesome guy and a great fighter.

Bottom line, fighters have issues. They do stupid stuff like this. Let’s see what happens in court and find out what and why this happened.

Definitely agree, he seems normal to me.

I’ve been watching Quinton interviews for years, he does not sound like he does in every interview there. He sounds horribly hung over at best, which may be it.

yeah, i was thinking antidepressant pharmaceuticals or something when i saw the vid and heard about the arrest.

I have to say that I feel misled after watching the video. I expected to see something that shed new light on the current situation. But what’s so disturbing? The fact that Rampage rambles and stutters a bit? Isn’t that how he always talks?

Disturbing may be a little much but he seems off. I know he’s god’s street soldier and all but it seemed like he felt he didn’t acknowledge the big man enough during his time as the champ and took it for granted what he had. But then again who knows. Thats reading deep into it though.

He seemed ok though, seemed heartfelt and shit and the joke at the end was funny.

Hopped up on coke maybe??

by nitro on Jul 16, 2008 2:04 AM EDT reply actions

He even gave a shout out to Dr. Coker…..

He seems a little off, but not too bad… we’ll see.

After watching this I can understand some of the thoughts that may have clouded Jackson’s head as he sped through the 55.

Hopefully he will see a sports psychiatrist a la GSP and get back in mental shape.

Try and find one sentence that he didn’t stutter.

After he lost in UFC , obviously he was confused and depressed. It can happen to anybody. Rampage has a hot temper. He is human. Give the man break

I really hope this incident doesn’t stop his career. He’s a really special part of the MMA world right now, and the dude’s got serious talent.

I haven’t seen many interviews with him, but he sounded hung over to me. I’m an RN and generally I can tell what antidepressants and pharm-downers look like, and he really didn’t look like that to me. It’s obviously hard to tell from one interview, but he just seemed hung over and a bit depressed.

Perfectly understandable state for a guy who just had a serious down-turn in his career.

turn off the mic!

Damn, Gary Alexander is horrible, but next to Rampage he almost seemed normal. Rampage has problems.

Disgusting

That person doing the interview was a complete moron. Rampage on the other hand seemed perfectly fine. He always stutters and has crazy darting eyes.

Rampage did not seem like himself in that interview. He was not the “chipper” and playful Rampage we have all come to know to love.

A Wandy - Jackson Fight?

That would be awesome. I like Rampage, as well as Griffin, and don’t think people shoud be ragging on him. Whatever he did in Orange Co. could never compare to urinating on national television (Jesse Taylor) so lets don’t make his temporary brain fart into something enormous. The dude had a bad day. He will be back.
