"Affliction does have the fighters to catch up (to the UFC)," said FOX NFL insider Jay Glazer. "Donald Trump being involved is huge. He understands business, in order to make a lot (of money) you have to give a lot. You gotta take your lumps. The card is maybe the most impressive card in MMA history. It's really unbelievable."

Jay Glazer is a good guy. When him and Frank Trigg are together, they are hilarious…He’s right, The Affliction card is as interesting to me as the UFC card. I would gladly purchase the Affliction show and record the UFC. The problem I face, like many others, is that I don’t have the extra cash. Another thing that factors in, is that many of the new MMA converts don’t know all of the fighters on the Affliction card. The reality is, the fans who have been recently turned on to MMA aren’t MMA fans at all. They are UFC fans. That’s going to hurt Affliction on Saturday as well. Here’s hoping that they stick around for a few shows anyway, or at least for long enough for Dana White to learn how to play nice in the sandbox with the rest of the kids.
No way in hell that this is “the best card ever.” UFC 84 had 6 out of 10 of the top light heavyweights in the world and Sherk vs. Penn on top of that. And the majority of these ranked light hevy weights actually fought each other. Yeah, that Affliction card is stacked, but terribly mismatched. Fedor and Arlovski have ranked opponents, but Lindland and Barnett are facing nobodies. No card will ever match UFC 84. I hope Affliction fails and think that they will. If they acquire both Ortiz and Couture then I could be wrong. P.S who gives a crap about Tim Sylvia. That guy’s a choad.
