Quote of the Day 2: Tim Sylvia Just Wants to Be Loved
"I don't look at this as a great opportunity...I look at it as just another big fight and a chance to shut some of my critics up."
"I've fought the best...After this fight, I'll be able to say, ‘Look at three of my last four fights. I will have fought one, two and three [in the heavyweight division].' There really isn't anybody else out there who can say that."
"I'm focusing on my legacy...I definitely want to win this fight and prove a lot of people wrong. I want people to say, ‘Win or lose, Tim put it on the line. He had the balls to fight this guy when a lot of other people wouldn't.'"
-- Tim Sylvia, who seems at times to care more about how he is perceived than how much he achieves. I don't believe him when he says the boos and jeers don't bother him.

I’d almost feel bad for Tim. But then I remember that he’s a boring and annoying steroid-abuser, and I wish he’d retire.

The fact that you just want to be liked is why many of us hate you. Poor little fella is getting booed again. Do you think he will cry himself to sleep on his HUGE pillow?

Haha! Geeze, no wonder Tim is so sensitive! Seriously though, he comes across as a tryhard. Honestly, I have nothing against Tim, I just don’t enjoy watching his fights.

Tim, Tim Tim
Getting beat by the top three heavyweights is not a very persuasive arguement. Maybe he should start winning then people would respect him.

He’s a former champion? Oh, then he must have been winning those fights against Nog and Randy.
Wait….
Regardless: boring.

lol
Didn’t say he wasn’t boring. My reply was in reference to “maybe he should start winning then people would respect him” comment. He was winning, and people still didn’t respect him.
I think it’s his face hair.

No, the facial hair is hot. HOT.
It’s the floppy love handles.

Back when Tim beat Ricco I was jumping up and down in the living room. I absolutely despise Ricco. After he got popped for roids and was gone for that year or so I have never really cared for him since. It is not because of a lack of winning that I now dislike him. You can lose and still be a highly regarded fighter as long as you put on a good fight. It’s that he always seems to have an excuse when he loses. I don’t care if you werent 100% coming into the fight, no one is. Just accept that it was the other fighters night, that he got you, and move on.

Got love
I got love for Tim Sylvia because of what he said here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wV2cUN6B5tg
He articulates a social responsibility/consciousness very few others in the fight game do. I can see why others find his fights mundane and what not, but that’s not everything.

![Tim Sylvia ‘Extremely Embarrassed,’ Ready to Fight:
"Affliction didn’t want to do all the [press] and then have me show up and the athletic commission say, ‘No, he isn’t fighting.’". "I understand it, but I am ready to fight."
Sylvia also claimed he was in great shape and is ready to go as soon as possible. Sylvia mentioned Japan as a possibility, saying, "That is a place I have always wanted to fight."
