Bill O'Reilly and Team Talk Elite XC on CBS
Wow… there’s some classics in here:
- Mentioning terrorism and MMA in the same sentence.
- Comparing MMA to wrestling and then saying its like boxing except with the opportunity to inflict more brain damage on your opponent.
- CBS wanting to have a death for ratings.

shrug
It’s Fox News. There’s like 10 people in the country that still take them seriously.

Always thought there was a lesser chance of head damage? Together with smaller gloves, Kicks and a sold ground game in MMA, that there is more ways to win than head pounding, and theres less time in the rounds and less of them too.
Just watching 2 avarage boxers bashing heads for 16 rounds is more more likeley to cause long term brain damage

You have to view this as it is
An attempt to get ratings. Nothing more, nothing less. They need something to rail against so they can keep their indignation act going. It’s the same for both sides of the political aisle.

Right on...
...don’t forget that Bill was one of the people trying to get the republicans out voting for Hillary in the primaries as he thought she’d be the easier of the two to run against in the presidential elections. So he didn’t get his way…and rather than dwell too much on that whole thing…he just looked for something that would get his name some more pub.

Did he do that, too? I thought it was Limbaugh. And I think the idea was to extend the primary season, not that Clinton was an easier opponent since y’know she’s the tougher of the two.

Roman Empire?
I love the insinuation that combat sports are akin to gladiatorial games and that those where the fall of the Roman empire. The Games had nothing to do with the fall of Rome. I think that is the part that infuriates me the most. In fact it is the opposite. Rome fell because they stopped fighting their own wars and began to rely on “barbarian” tribes to do their fighting for them. When you rely on others to fight for you, you become dependent on them, they have power over you, sooner or later they will want more then you pay them. Combat sports and learning martial arts will keep America free and strong. Billdo doesn’t understand this and never will.

I'm glad someone said it...
As you said…the games had nothing to do with the fall of the empire.

Bernie is an idiot
He talks about someone dying in the “Sport”.. so where is the segment on the deaths in Boxing, and how it should be banned from TV, and how it is the downfall of the western world.. schmuck!!
Forget the fact that this sport has been going on for years in one form or another, in both the US and other countries.. but of course it doesn’t matter until CBS puts it on.. now we are all going to hell.. Fox News loves to spread hate and fear.. that is how they make their money.. and I would argue that 24/7 cable news is the downfall of this country not MMA..

Maybe if we all close our eyes and ignore Bill O’Rielly, he’ll finally go away.

Ever watch the episode of South Park...
...where they convince Cartman that he is dead simply by ignoring him? I vote we try it.

I know that I am in the minority
I do watch O’Reilly’s show and i think that in most cases they try to look at both sides of an issue. However, in terms of MMA, he is just so ill informed and unprepared that it is pathetic. Bernie saying that CBS would love to show a fighter die is inexcusable. I know that people like O’Reilly are not going to change their ways of thinking, but he needs to book someone (maybe Nick?) to give him a few pointers on MMA. The lack of research in this topic is troublesome.

lol O'Reilly doesn't take pointers...
O’Reilly is in the top 5 most ignorant fucking humans on the planet. If he does get someone who offers a different viewpoint on his show he usually gets out argued and the way he counters that is either with the “hands over ears I can’t hear you” approach or the “turn off their microphone” strategy.
Just to throw in another South Park reference, this dude gives John Edwards a run for his money as the biggest douche in the universe. That’s John Edwards the “psychic” not the politician.
O’Reilly needs to die so that he can finally be of use powering small towns by spinning in his grave everytime something that isn’t matlock gets shown on TV.

O’Reilly only looks at the left side of any argument to inform his audience of how absurd and anti-American it is…that guy trains his audience what their opinions should be and breeds hate and intolerance…

Fox news is a joke and for this exact reason, I am pulling for UFC to get on Fox, so we can see how they shut their mouths about mma.
O’Reilly is a tool. He is so stuck on his views, he frequently cuts his guests off, then makes his snide remarks after they are off screen. I compare his guests trying to voice their views, to trying to tell a small child something and they just cover their ears and make noise so they can’t hear.
I used to watch him some for entertainment, but he just kept getting worse and worse, so I gave up. His views on mma mean nothing and the people who form their opinions based on his (or anyone’s for that matter) are worthless to the sport.

He is a small man.
Bill is afraid of all those are stronger than he is. Mentally, physically, emotionally.
He is the classic coward. You can bet he will be kissing the ass of the first MMA star he can book as it blows up. Zero integrity.
Olbermann is whiney and annoying as hell lately, but at least he seems honest and gets sports, including MMA I bet. Bill gets off threating children. Haha what a tool.
I'm not positive about Obermann endorsing MMA, just a guess... hmm, now I'm curious....
