Matt Hughes Speaks On His Career With InsideFighting.com
“I’ve still got many fights left in me,” says Hughes during a recent media call as he prepares to face rising star Thiago Alves at UFC 85 on Saturday night. “I’ve got two more fights on my contract, counting the Thiago fight. So by no means am I going to retire before my contract is over. And I’m probably not going to retire afterwards either. I feel I’ve got three or four fights left in me. I’m very healthy right now, no aches and pains, no nagging injuries - I feel great. I’ve got many more fights under my belt.”
Wow...I wonder what caused the change of heart? Was it a promise that if he beats Alves and Serra that he'll get a 4th shot at GSP? I personally want to see Hughes/Karo...since that fight was booked for UFC 56 and we never got to experience it.
