Couture was in Wanderlei Silva's corner for his fight against Keith Jardine. However, following Silva's spectacular KO victory, Couture and Shaun Tompkins were reportedly denied entrance into the octagon for the post fight celebration by UFC officials. The official explanation was that the doctor needed to attend to Jardine before anyone was allowed into the cage. However, when other cornermen were allowed into the cage, Couture and Tompkins were still denied access.
The UFC has steadfastly refused to acknowledge Couture's existence, let alone presence, on its broadcasts since its dispute with the former Heavyweight Champion began last fall.
Well, they DID let him corner Wandy, and Joe Rogan mentioned Couture's name on the broadcast(I wonder if he was scolded?) All of this could've been avoided had one man honored his contract. Who's right and who's wrong in this situation?
