Nick Diaz to Fight on CBS?

Over at a messageboard I visit a lot, one of the posters just received this via email:

Doing the show in Stockton only makes sense if Nick Diaz will be fighting on the card.  I know that would kill his fight with Sakurai, but I expect that he would definitely drop that booking in order to fight Noons on CBS.

[UPDATE] by Nick Thomas:

The website GracieFighter.com has revealed that a planned welterweight title bout between Hayato Sakurai and Nick Diaz that had been scheduled for July 21 in Osaka, Japan during DREAM.5, has been canceled by EliteXC.

GracieFighter.com, a site owned and operated by Diaz’s trainer, Cesar Gracie, indicated that EliteXC made the decision to cancel the bout due to "contractual obligations."

While no official announcement has been made, multiple sources have informed Five Ounces of Pain that rematch between Diaz and K.J. Noons for Noons’ EliteXC lightweight title is expected to be added to the promotion’s next primetime broadcast on CBS on July 26.

Nick Diaz said in a interview with me he would drop the Sakurai fight for EliteXC

Chances are pretty good that they may be fighting at EliteXC on July 26 also, we heard that rumor last Sunday from a source.

If you had a choice one month from now to fight in the Dream Tournament or fight for the EliteXC lightweight championship which would you do first?
My first loyalty right now is to EliteXC so that’s where I would fight but a month from now I should be in Japan fighting in Dream. I’ve always liked fighting in Japan especially since they use a ring instead of a cage.

If you would also like to report it.
