Fighters Ducking Fights!

Ok, if it's anything that get's under my skin, it's when fighters want hand picked opponents on their way to a championship.  I can't say Vera did this for a fact, because I have no Idea what this Article says(maybe someone has a translator).

I think this would be an awesome match up for both fighters, so I don't see why either would turn it down!

I don’t blame him. He has lost two in a row, no matter how close or questionable they were, they are losses. Everyone has seen Machida fight, why on earth would Vera want his first 205 fight be against him? As for ducking him, I highly, highly doubt Vera is the only one ducking Machida. I would imagine the UFC is eventually going to have either force someone to fight him or just give him a title fight….

Plus why would you want to take a fight with one of the top guys in a division on short notice?

yeah I wasn't saying he was the only one, I think

other people have been ducking Machida. Specifically Forrest because he wanted to fight Shogun and Chuck’s trainer said they would have a hard time coming up with a game plan for him. Now neither of these can I say come from a credible source, so it’s just “hear say” at this point. Someone was giving credit to Tito for not ducking him, but I think it was more a case of just filling the last fight on his contract and trying to one up dana

Another Brazilian could paint in UFC Fight Night 14, set up to fight side by side with the Affliction on July 19, but its participation has been discarded. Dana White, the Ultimate mandachuva, proposed the Lyoto Machida, who comes from great victory over Tito Ortiz at UFC 84, to face Brandon Vera, and soon brazuca topou. But the return of the Ultimate Lyoto the octagon will be postponed because Vera, who lost for Werdum in UFC 85, did not accept the fight. “It’s true. The Ultimate I proposed but the Brandon Vera did not want. I do not know what happened, but he did not accept the fight, “Lyoto, which has not recieved any further proposal and must stay out of this edition of the UFC.

Thanks Nick

I knew there had to be a translator online, but I’ll admit I was to lazy to look.

Styles Make Fights Right!

Well if you ask me I think this match up would be great! I guess I just don’t share the same feeling as some of these fighters. Take Florian for example, he wants to make sure he beats everybody, that way no one can say he is un-deserving of his title shot. The idea that it has to be a title shot for two marquee fighters to fight is ridiculous.

yeah!

I would love to see this fight. They’re two of my favorite fighters. But as much as I would like to see them fight, I’d rather see them in a title fight in the future. To me, I’d rather see 5 rounds than 3 when watching marquee fighters fight. We can watch them slug it out longer and for a belt too. Regarding Vera ducking the fight, I can’t blame him for doing that.. coming in with 2 consecutive losses and picking a debut fight at 205 with the #2 ranked LHW at short notice would be a very bad choice for him.. Right now, he’s not in a position for a title fight at LHW and a bout with Lyoto might fast track that but its too risky for him. Maybe on a card other than the July 19 card we could see him fight Lyoto, you need a very long preparation when facing him since we’ve seen a lot of teams having a hard time setting up a gameplan for him..
