Ultimate Fighter Finale

Let me start off by saying the fight between C.B. Dollaway & Amir Sadollah was a great fight showing that both deserve to be in the finale. I want to voice my regret for Amri though. He clearly had the hardest route to the finale and beat everyone put in front of him including C.B. Dollaway. He now has to fight Dollaway again due to the drunken rampage J.T. Money decided to go on.

I found myself yelling at  my TV for Dana White to give Amir the six figure contract outright. He clearly deserves it and is the only undefeated fighter left on the show. instead he called back Dollaway and Tim "I'll flop on my back" Credeur to fight for the chance to reach the finale. Tim put up a good fight which went the distance but went in Dollaway's favor.

We now have to watch Amir vs. C.B. again! This is not a bad thing really just unfortunate for Amir. He'll have to beat the heavily favored and Dana White favorite C.B. Dollaway, again.

Here's hoping the fight is as good or better then their first fight and that Amir get a six figure contract win or lose. Make it happen Dana!

If Amir had any sort of takedown defense

He would have easily kicked CBs ass. Hopefully he’s been working on that in the off time.

When they made the pairings for the semifinals I was pissed. I wanted to see CB and Amir put in opposite semifinals then because I thought they were clearly the two best fighters in the group and should have been set up to meet in the finale all along. It sucks for Amir that he has to beat CB twice, but CB also had to get through an additional fight to get back to the finals. Regardless, this is the fight I wanted to see for the finals all along, so I’m happy it found a messed up way to happen.

It’s amazing to me that Amir had no professional fights at all before this show. That kid’s got some crazy upside. I still think CB is going to get him in the finale, but I’m banking on another great fight from those two.

Thoughts:

Jesse–I have to admit, I felt kind of bad for him. In no way do I condone what he did, as a matter of fact, I hate that kind of meat-head, jackass behavior. However, they bring these guys in, many young, many a little wild and many experiencing these things for the first time. Do they teach them how to conduct themselves like pros? Do they give them a seminar on what may await them, much like the NFL Rookie Symposium? Not that I know of. Instead, they put them in a house, feed them booze and encourage them to trash the house and act like idiots for the sake of "good" TV. I can certainly understand how someone may get mixed signals and let this spill out of the house. Unfortunately, that doesn’t make what he did alright. I’m not sure if this was the correct punishment or not, only time will tell. The one thing I do agree with, that Dana stated, is that Jesse is not emotionally ready for this step up in exposure. I am glad that he didn’t say Jesse had no future in the UFC, and he still has an opportunity to make it there, that many fighters will never get.

CB–I picked him to win the day he was leaked as a competitor. I have seen him fight several times and felt he had a bright future. I have not seen that CB on TUF, fighter wise. I question his gas tank and his chin, but there is no doubt he is one of the top guys and deserves to be in the finals. He was dominating Amir pretty good, but you can’t just leave your arms hanging out there. He was constantly leaving himself open to be caught in a triangle or armbar. I picked him, I’ll stick with him. CB by dec 29-28.

Amir–How can you not like this guy? He is so unassuming and humble, and to a certain extent, seems surprised with his success. He has a solid chin, big heart, good striking and sneaky bjj. Many guys would have cashed it in after that elbow, but he kept on coming. It wouldn’t bother me at all to see him win, but either way, he seems to have a bright future in the UFC. Guys like this are fan favorites and always have a place in a promotion.

TUF season– How appropriate that a season that began with a "fight-in", would end with an extra fight, lol. Not terrible season, not great. The bottom line is, who comes from the house this year? I say in a year we will see maybe 3 or 4 of these guys fighting in the UFC at most. I like the fight to get in the house concept, but as ratings show, the re-tooling of TUF needs to continue. Imo, the Nog/Mir season could be huge in determining what we see for the future of TUF.
