New York Is Not Voting to Legalize MMA Tomorrow
Many people in the online MMA community believe New York is voting tomorrow on whether or not to legalize MMA. That is not the case. Rather, this vote is a vote in the New York Assembly Tourism, Arts and Sports Development Committee. This is a preliminary vote that needs to pass in order for this legislation to even get to the floor of the two main chambers of the New York state legislature.
If tomorrow's vote does pass, it is not even close to the end of this battle, because on top of having to go through main floor debates and votes, there is also the governor's veto if it eventually passes.

Thanks for the Government Lesson
The point is that most bills never make it out of committee. With the strong lobbying ability once out of committee it should be all but guaranteed to pass at some point.
Thanks for the insight though.

I posted it mainly because I’ve seen endless posts on MMA blogs from people that the vote tomorrow is to legalize MMA. I also posted it because it’s highly improbable that Dana has rented out a room to tell his employees that they are now part way through the process of running a show one day in New York. It makes no sense.
