Rumor: Anderson Silva vs. Yushin Okami in October

Sources indicate to Bloody Elbow that as of last week, Anderson Silva was scheduled to fight Yushin Okami in October at the UFC's next UK show.  The UFC is reportedly looking at Birmingham, England as a possible show location.

If they do go ahead with this fight, it will be interesting to see if it is done on Spike TV or PPV, because this fight alone on a UK PPV will probably do the lowest buyrate of the year unless the semi main event is big.

Note:  There has been no bout agreement signed or anything.  This is just a rumor right now, and things change quickly in this business.

Hey

I thought Cote/almedia fight was suppose to determine who fights Silva?

Awesome.

This is the fight that needs to happen before Anderson moves up, and definitely before the winner of Cote/Almeida gets a shot.

Anderson should clear this loss before he moves up, and again I am an avid supporter and it makes clear sense to me to give Yushin the title shot, not fucking Cote or Almeida who have not strung together enough consecutive victories. The voiceover snippet for UFC 85, with the winner of Cote vs. Almeida receiving a TS is ridiculous.

I credit this solely to you, Rome!!

Seriously, this would be the correct move. Winner of Almeida/Cote gets either Marquardt or the winner of Marquardt/Leites 2 (imo, Almeida vs Marquardt), then the winner of that gets the next shot (at Silva).

that is so stupid

Cote has earned himself a shot at the title already, and Nate has fought Anderson and got his ass beat.

UFC is doing it right.

first okami then the winner of almeida vs cote.

Nice comment. YOUR stupid!! lol, j/k!

I would love to see Cote get a beatdown from Anderson, but it won’t happen.

Yeah, wanting to see a rematch of the infamous Almeida/Marquardt fight, which would be a dream to promote is stupid. Umm, ok, whatever man.

I don’t think Nate could beat Anderson, but I think it would absolutely be a better fight of he was to get another shot.

As far as guys getting rematches against Silva, the only one I want to see is Henderson.
