Bloody Elbow Staff Picks WEC: Faber vs Pulver

Urijah Faber vs. Jens Pulver:

Kid Nate:  Pulver has the perfect skill set to beat Faber. Good enough sprawl to keep it standing and KO power. Faber has an excellent chance of winning, but Jens is being sold short here so I'm taking Pulver by KO.

Brent Brookhouse: As much as my heart wants me to pick Jens. And as great of a story as Jens Pulver getting the win would be. I just can't picture it happening. Faber is going to put Jens on his back and lay a big time beating on him. Faber by TKO in the second round.

Michael Rome: I think Faber is going to take this via submission, and I expect it to look a lot like BJ/Jens, with the difference being that Urijah won't be releasing match-ending submissions so he can win via KO.  Faber via submission, round 3.

Nick Thomas: I read somewhere - If you aren't a fan of Jens Pulver, they you aren't a fan of freedom. Made me smile. I'll be cheering for Jens, but I just can't pick him. Faber + training with BJ = Faber by submission.

Miguel Torres vs. Yoshiro Maeda:

Kid Nate: Torres by utter domination and submission.

Brent Brookhouse: I watched Miguel win an Ironheart Crown tourney back in '01 and was impressed with him back then. I've only grown more impressed with him as time has gone on. Maeda is a tough guy who can bang. I'll take Torres by decision in the fight of the night.

Michael Rome: Really looking forward to this one.  Maeda is great but Torres is a machine on the ground and will submit him.  Torres via submission, round 2.

Nick Thomas: 5 rounds is plently of time for Torres to submit Maeda. Torres by rear naked choke.

Mark Munoz vs. Chuck Grigsby:

Kid Nate: Going with Munoz here.

Brent Brookhouse: Grigsby has a lot more experience. That will do him a lot of favors as Chuck pulls off a TKO win in the third.

Michael Rome: I'm picking Munoz here, Grigsby's record is not that impressive and Munoz has the tools to win.

Nick Thomas: Shot in the dark here... all I know about Munoz are the training videos up at WEC.tv. So I'm picking Munoz by decision.

Rob McCullough vs. Kenneth Alexander:

Kid Nate: Razor Rob will be back and tonight's his first step on the comeback trail. McCullough by TKO.

Brent Brookhouse: McCullough by TKO in the first.

Michael Rome: McCullough is being given an easy rebound fight, and he'll win via KO round 1.

Nick Thomas: Alexander won't be able to take McCullough down. McCullough by TKO.
