Chris Leben Off UFC 85

This card is cursed:

UFC middleweight Chris Leben today was sentenced to 35 days of jail time (and credited for eight days' time served) following last week's arrest for a probation violation, according to a representative from Oregon's Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.

However, Leben's UFC 85 bout with Michael Bisping now appears unlikely to take place. The bout was set for the televised main card of the June 7 event.

I don't really hold anything against Leben, he tried to do what's necessary and it didn't work.  They had a backup plan incase this happened, and now we'll see it.  Most likely are Yushin Okami and Dan Henderson, Henderson was willing to fight Franklin on this show, so it wouldn't surprise me if he gets called on for this one.

If they put Bisping in the Octagon with Dan Henderson that will be a very premature end for the career of their Brit superstar.

It would be just too bad ass if Leben said screw it and did the fight anyway..... the pre-fight interview would be awesome, "So I'm in lock-up dodging shanks, I'm hangin in the yard regulatin on the homies and the esse's, you think i'm worried about fighting an englishman?...", shows off his prison tatoo.... that would be legend.....

"How was prison?  I was too busy putting the stamp on kids to even notice I was locked down, son."

Well, I hope Dan has been training if they do decide to put him in there with Bisping.  While I think Henderson is the better fighter, I'd hate to see him lose three in a row due to lack of preparation.

Henderson vs. Bisping is just a bad plan.  Okami sure...but Hendo just lost to Silva...so him bumping off a potential challenger is bad for business.  Okami beating Bisping would just serve to cement his status as #1 contender.

Re: Chris Leben Off UFC 85
Isn't Okami next in line for Silva?  If Hendo beats him (my bet), then no one is in line for Silva (except Roy Jones Jr.).

Re: Chris Leben Off UFC 85
Now we're talking. Bisping and Quarry are fairly evenly matched and either way the winner could be positioned as being in contention. Obviously, Bisping more so than KO Quarry but still...
