Odds Moving on Young vs. Carano
Just a quick update as the odds are moving on Kaitlin Young vs. Gina Carano following the weigh-in situation. I decided to make my play on Monday and got Kaitlin at +300. Right now she is down to +260 (both odds from bodoglife). I figure by the time the show starts we're going to see Young at about +210. As a matter of fact BetUS already has her at +220.
If you want to get a play in on Kaitlin do it now before the line really starts to adjust any further.

Huh...
These are the kind of events and fights where I think the linesmakers are still a bit unsure. The odds are all over the place here. It seems like some people are thinking Gina is distracted and not making weight is a bad thing…and others think it is a good thing that she didn’t try to kill herself making weight.

i don’t bet but i do follow the lines that are set up for the fights (closest i come to wagering is having fun on mmaplayground).... that said sometimes the lines they are coming up with are a bit befuddling….. like that palhares vs salaverryfight ….. palhares was the favorite in my mind in that fight, but i knew that the books would have him at a + ......sure enough slaverry was like -160 or something when the odds came out…...did the bookmakers even see his last two fights in the ufc when they set that line?....seems to me that the linesmakers don’t have the depth of knowledge in mma like they do in some other sports…..

Along with you, mmaplayground is the extent of my betting up until this fight. Which means I don’t know a whole lot about betting and odds and all of that. But I’m under the impression that the odds are partly influenced by which fighter (team) people are betting on. Which explains a lot, I think.
However, I could be completely wrong.
Survey says
And with hindsight, we see that it was better not to kill herself making weight and just buy her way out of trouble. How many other fighters would love to do that?

People Have Seen Young Fight
Lots of folks have seen Young fight already. All of her three knock out fights are readily viewable on Youtube. And so are her recent grappling tournaments. Most comments from people who say they respect her fighting have referred back to seeing these Youtube battles.
I agree that people have seen her...
I’m saying that people still aren’t positive where the line should be in fights like these. A lot of unknowns exist for fights and that still plays with the linemakers.

Yep they’ve shortened a fair bit now, best atm is +234 with Pinnacle.
This should be an interesting fight.
