That’s dope…I could cover the God Of War Card: Monson vs. Randleman here in NC if I was credentialed :)

its about time. I know why you guys do it and its purpose, but a live blog for the televised portion of card only is lame. It make BE look second class. Now that you will have a live blog of the whole card I can stay off mmaweekly entirly. If only BE had a fight finder, then I could live a sherdog free life as well.

haha...

I personally have a rule on liveblogs (and this is just my own thing)....

Unless we’re there live I’d prefer we don’t cover fights we aren’t watching. I’d much rather wait to see if something gets televised and watch the fight to form my own opinion on what is happening. I personally would much rather see a fight and get the thrill of “oh my god…what’s going to happen” than read a one line “Fighter A KO’ed Fighter B at 2:01 of round 1”

I’ve never understood the need to know RIGHT THAT SECOND what happened on the undercard when I could potentially watch the fight without a “spoiled view.”

When we have someone there live to provide a deep insightful thought into the action of the prelims…then awesome. That looks much better than taking results from another site and throwing them up with no idea how the fight went.

I am impatiant. I need to know. Its a personallity flaw.

I know you can’t take results from other sites, that would be lame. I am just happy BE got the press cred and can do a live blog all there own. Without the prelims its more of a live discussion of the PPV then a live blog of the event.

It’s weird that the WEC and Vs. seem to be going out of their way to be accommodating to new media, while the UFC is anything but. It’s odd that Zuffa doesn’t have the same sort of worries about protecting the WEC “brand,” when it comes to press credentials. Is this due to Zuffa admitting that they could actually benefit from exposure via those silly series of tubes called the internets? Or is this largely because Versus wants more ad revenue, and to get that they need more eyeballs on their programming? Or a combination of both?

I guess it’s best to focus on the positive that you guys will have credentials for 2 great events, and not on Zuffa’s strange hypocrisy (or maybe they’re just using their less valuable brand to test the waters and see if there is any use to this weird interweb thing-a-ma-jig).

first live event

Saturday will be my first live event and I’m pretty excited to BE will also be there covering it.
Anything a first timer should know or expect going to an event?

BTW, the new layout is awesome and the added functionality is impressive.

Keep up the good work guys.

Don't just sit in your seat...

...before the show walk around. Most shows I’ve been to there are fighters in the arena walking around. You can usually meet a few of them…get some autographs or pictures if that’s your thing. Or just shake dudes hands. Make sure they’re in “meeting fans” mode though. Don’t walk up to a fighter who is busy with other stuff and start bugging them.

Other than that…just have fun.
