Is Mark Coleman really injured or really scared?
I came across this very interesting interview with Mark Coleman from back in February while he was still negotiating a contract with the UFC.
Some quotes that might raise your eyebrows:
I would drop to 205 pounds to avoid Brock Lesnar
I feel sorry for who ever his next opponent is
So, is it at all possible that Coleman is not injured? This cloud might hang over his head, hopefully the two will fight in the future.
Interview here: Was Coleman too scared to fight Lesnar?

Coleman *is* injured
I met Coleman yesterday before the autograph session at the UFC 84 weigh in and we chatted for a while; his knee really is shot since, at one point during our conversation, he had to squat down to stretch it and I could hear the damn thing creaking and popping.
According to Coleman, he has no lateral movement in the kneecap i.e. straight line movement forward or back is fine, but any sideways or rotational movement brings the pain.
The source of his injury was a lazy Thai kick in training. He threw the kick out far too relaxed and his knee connected with the knee of his Thai coach, who had thrown a much harder kick. He’s expects to be back up to a full training regimen in six weeks but he’s pissed as hell that he’s missing out on the Lesnar fight.

The guy fought Fedor Emelianenko twice. I don’t think he’s scared, nor do I think any serious MMA fighters fake injuries.
