DREAM 4 - Middle Weight Grand Prix Round 2

According to dreamofficial.com:

Kazushi Sakuraba vs Melvin Manhoef
Ronaldo Jacare vs Jason "Mayhem" Miller
Dong Sik Yoon vs Gegard Mousasi
Zelg "Benkei" Galesik vs Kin Taiei

Tamura is injured... so Sakuraba gets Manhoef on June 15th. Yikes.

Aww, why are they throwing the Donger to Mousasi? That stinks.

Looks like the fans voted for Sakuraba v. Tamura…so of course Manhoef gets the match instead. I think everyone saw that coming, unfortunately.

Jacare v. Mayhem should be fantastic.

Galesic beat Kin last October. I’d rather see Kin and the Donger face one another, as their experience level is very similar (and because the Donger is my sentimental favorite).

Note to Sakuraba

...apparently the rule is either show up to Dream post fight press conferences, or get fed to man-beasts.

But I don’t want to see Sakuraba die.

Manhoef still has a crappy ground game, you never know, DREAM might think it’s a gift to Sakuraba. I don’t believe that it’ll work out that way for him unfortunately.

Looks like I was right about all your wild speculation being false.

Sakuraba IS IN THE FUCKING GP LIKE HE ALWAYS WAS.

Same thing goes for Aoki.

Maybe you should post a retraction for all the times you said otherwise.

You’re right. Blogs shouldn’t post rumours as rumours. That’s just stepping way out of line.

Awesome!!

Mayhem vs Jacare??? Can’t wait!

Isn’t this supposed to be CC’s next fight as well? Or is that 5?

I can’t wait to see how Jacare does against a higher level fighter like Mayhem. He was impressive last time out, but that guy was over matched.

Oh and wild speculation on an internet blog? you have to be kidding me! Someone call Perez Hilton! This needs to be exposed!

Seriously, get over it.

This is different.

I warned them against reporting this bogus news three or four different times, yet they plunged ahead even after I told them to be cautious with such obvious misinformation.

Now it’s time for them to own up and admit they were wrong from the start.

Ok, I’ll stay out of it, just struck me funny because so many people see blogs and wikipedia and such as the end all. And BE is far better than most mma sites and their content.

Regardless, I like what Dream is doing and look forward to where they go in the future.

don’t get a lot of the logic behind some of these matchups…. they seemed to have grouped the asian fighters apart from each other in order to spread local interest over the most fights possible

i like mayhem vs jacare…..

I’m surprised they didn’t put sak in maybe vs Kin, ensuring a japanese rep in the semi’s…if not that maybe a re-match with the Donger, giving Saku a chance to get through to the semi’s

i would have liked to have seen a Zelg Galesic vs Melvin Manhoef fight, both these guys made their bones in the Cage RAge shows. if not those two then maybe Galesic vs Mousasi in a battle for Eastern Bloc supremacy.

how i would have booked it

Saku vs Kin
Manhoef Vs Galesic
Mousasi vs Donger
Jacare vs Mayhem

If I had to give a reason, I’d say having Saku fight Melvin is probably going to pull in more casual viewers than having him fight Kin.
