UFC 83 Preview: Jason "Dooms" Day

He'll be taking on Alan "The Talent" Belcher on the undercard of UFC 83. Day is a talented grappler from up north (Canada) who recently scored a decision win over former UFC middleweight contender David Loiseau. Here's a neat highlight reel of Day for edification purposes:

Day's talented, but not world class on the mat. I don't see anything in his arsenal that raises my eyebrows, but he has decent takedowns, good pressure and a normal if reliable set of submissions. Add to that that UFC 83 will be his octagon debut, making the jitters in front of 22,000 people a real possibility. Belcher is obviously looking to keep this on the feet, but he'll have to work for it against a big, strong and aggressive Day.
