First off, I wanted to wish Tommy good luck for his fight tomorrow night. He's got some photos from when he was training at the gym posted on his website. So, if you haven't seen those yet, you can check them out at tommyspeer.com.

Well, for a long time I've talked about going up in weight class and I've decided to finally do it. Only I'm not going up to 185, I'm going up to 205 to fight Mauricio "Shogun" Rua in June. I'm bulking up now and packing on muscle and I'm thinking that it will be nice to not have to cut weight for a change. I think it's a great match-up for me and I've told Dana that if I win this, then I want a shot at the 205 title next.

Sorry for the short blog this week, I'm here in Colorado helping Tommy get ready for his fight, so I'll try to have more for you all next week. I just wanted to break the big news. -matt

2nd best April fools joke so far.

My buddy who is very busy, just had a baby with an ex-gf (she found out she was pregnant after they broke up) they tried to work it out, but didn't. she moved to Vegas and they have been squabbling recently. He was so busy that he didn't even think of the date when she left him a vm shortly after midnight..."sorry i've been so wierd lately, but there is a reason...I'm pregnant again".He checks the vm and wigs out, she doesn't answer her phone all night, then leaves him the April fools message this morning!

I don't think he took into consideration that Shogun will not even be training in 2-3 months much less fighting a MMA fight due to the surgery his just had...

In other news, UFC.com is reporting that Anderson Silva has signed to face Roy Jones Jr. in an MMA fight on September 13.

Matt Hughes is either a) unfunny, or b) an idiot. Actually, lemme add the right answer, c) all of the above. Actually, the funniest thing I've seen him do is pass out bibles to TUF fighters and tell them to read a story and subsequently tell him who one of the characters reminded him of. That was like an episode The Office. Funny, and the main character (Hughes) seemed not to be in on the joke. Also, uncomfortable. What a moron that guy is.
