Ultimately, Iron Ring is likely more interesting for what it might inspire rather than what it actually is. Expanding MMA's demographic reach is an important component in the sport's continued growth and mainstream acceptance. Instead of just another MMA series, it may ultimately be remembered as the industry's first inroad into the African-American demographic.

I'm definitely pumped to see my boy, Brian Rogers' fight. As I haven't seen it yet.

I'm pissed that he didn't win, but he said that he was treated well... and the money was excellent for his first pro bout.

Compared to TUF1... where Dana had to do his "Do you wanna be an effing fighter" speech in order to get those guys to fight for free... This is positive progression.

I think that the mma purists need to take a step back and realize that this may be good for the sport.
