Brock Lesnar vs Mark Coleman in August

Mark Coleman and Joe Rogan announced it between fights at UFC 82. Great matchup. Lesnar has an excellent chance to win since he's got the same skill set as Coleman, but is younger, bigger, stronger, and quicker. Coleman meanwhile brings a great resume -- "former UFC heavyweight champ" -- and certainly deserves the big payday. MUCH better than the rumored Justin McCully/Lesnar matchup. Good job Dana and Joe Silva.

Also, who do you think has the steroid advantage? Coleman because of the extra 10 years of injections or Lesnar because he has had access to the more expensive high tech roids? Jeez, with two HIGHLY skilled steroid enthusiasts, I don't know who to root against!
Blech.

Re: Brock Lesnar vs Mark Coleman in August
The only gratifying thing for me about Lesnar's ridiculous levels of steroid abuse is that he's too heavy to get chased out of the HW division: another couple losses and I won't have to see him in the UFC ever again. All I have to do is avoid the second rate promotions like Dreams (he's tailor-made for the kind of freak shows the Japanese seem to love so much) or K-1 Dynamite!.

Re: Brock Lesnar vs Mark Coleman in August
"...he was a two time Mid-American Conference wrestling champion. In his senior year, he ... won an NCAA championship. Out of college, Coleman was awarded a spot on the US Wrestling team, and took 7th place in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain."
Brock's:
"Lesnar finished his amateur career as a two-time NJCAA All-American, two-time NCAA All-American, two-time Big Ten Champion, and the 2000 NCAA heavyweight champion..."
They don't straight up compare, but being the Olympic team seems to be a bigger deal to most people. I'd say that Coleman has the better wrestling pedigree, but, as I keep pointing out, wrestling isn't MMA.
Brock is a couple inches taller, 40 pounds heavier, and 13 years younger. Luckily for Coleman, Brock doesn't seem to have any skills that will help him finish a fight in MMA except takedowns and some amateurish striking on the ground.
Actually, I want to ammend my previous statement: it's Kimbo vs. Tank 2 but less exciting, except to fans of pro wrestling and pharmaceutical makers.
