Quote of the Day 2: Junie Browning

"I think The Ultimate Fighter made me look a little nicer than I was," Browning said. "I was pretty happy about that. I did other stuff like that that they didn't show -- the usual, me acting like a prick."

"I'm broke, completely," Browning said. "It sucks, but I'm training. If I win I'll keep on fighting full-time, but you can't live broke forever. I'm eating beans and bologna."

Go away Junie!!

You’re bad for the sport. Good for “The Real World” on MTV but very bad for MMA.

I’m not saying this shouldn’t be on BE, but why even bother with this jackass. The less coverage of him the better, at least until he gets it together. Junie is all talk and no walk.

Eliot Marshall: Bader won. Like I said in the episode, I'm not going to make any excuses. It's my job to be able to deal with when somebody's doing that. It's not his job to change up his tactics.

Agreed

Enough of people who are famous for being famous. Let’s discuss him if he ever accomplishes something in the MMA world (not reality tv world).

by mythbuster on Dec 8, 2008 11:59 AM EST up reply actions

I am finding it hard

to even think of him as any sort of good fighter. He really struggled with that Delgado guy who seems to have nothing in the way of toughness & Efraim owned him. This goes back to the old saying about never listening to a guy on the playground talking about how he could beat all of the pros

i saw roli delgado (i think that’s his name) at NAGA in Dallas this weekend. i didnt speak to him. i made eye contact and must have had that, ‘oh i know you look’ cuz he turned away pretty quick. i dont really care about him enough to talk to him. the only thing i’d have to say would be about junie and i doubt either of us cared much about that.

but hey, at least it wasnt at the airport, right?

I find it interesting that they chose not to show even worse behavior from him...

if for no other reason than that there are reasons for it to be posted. I’ve made my thoughts known on the kid and the way the UFC handled him..but nothing is going to change anytime soon on that.

I know,

how much worse could he have been? Throwing glasses at people, punching people sitting down

by dnevil001 on Dec 8, 2008 2:07 PM EST up reply actions

I think he's full of shit

The idea of cutting room floor footage only adds to the myth of Junie.

by Derek Suboticki on Dec 8, 2008 2:15 PM EST up reply actions

I think you’re right. Everything else he said has been proven to be full of shit, why would this be any different.

by Benicio on Dec 8, 2008 9:25 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah,

I remember all of the hyping they did for this guy before the show started & yet we have not seen him give one good performance even against guys on this show.

JUNIE

i’m not a big fan of junie or his antics either, but i have an inkling of a feeling that there will be more to the junie browning story than being the drunken baffoon on tuf. only time will tell.

Junie = FAIL

That is all. Please BE, no more stories on this psycho until he actualy wins in the octagon.

by xFenixKnightx on Dec 8, 2008 1:11 PM EST reply actions

I guess you have to give some credit to Junie and TUF. They’ve created buzz around a fighter, who is a borderline psycho- and sociopath, with mediocre brawling skills and little to nil accomplishments. Thank god they came up with some overhyped “Junie is going to kill someone” incident for 70% of the shows this season.

by Frank_Castle on Dec 8, 2008 2:28 PM EST reply actions

Yeah, this season really irritated me by giving so much time to him and the antics, when the house was had some really good guys, some great coaches and a lot of talented fighters. I think they really missed out on the chance to show taht some of the guys coming in are quality people and fighters.

It was a much more talent loaded...

show than last year…and yeah, they spent it all on a guy who at best is a mid-level guy.

It amazes me how they have virtually ignored the real talent from this season – The BJJ superhero with accomplishments coming out of every orifice and the Philippino guy who could well be up there with the best of the best of TUF in the coming years.

Just goes to show TUF couldnt care less about the real MMA fans. It’s just another “crazy wacky zany times in a house full of unstable guys” show.

Isn’t Spike responsible for what gets aired outside of the fights? Why would they want to focus on anything other than the most outrageous characters?

Bolts from the Blue // People who have time on their hands will inevitably waste the time of people who have work to do.

by Richard Wade on Dec 9, 2008 12:10 AM EST up reply actions

I have to feel by the way Dana has been a monger for “creative and productive control”, that there’s no way he’s is (at least now) allowing SPIKE to determine what gets aired on TUF shows.

by Frank_Castle on Dec 9, 2008 10:22 AM EST up reply actions

pls

dana wouldve booted Junie the second time if he wasnt looking for numbers

im not impressed with your performance
