UFC 92 Final Gate Numbers
MMAWeekly reports:
Kizer also released final gate and revenue numbers for the event. The live gate numbers were in line with UFC president Dana White's post-fight quote, with $3,468,440 generated from 9,701 tickets sold. 4,465 tickets were issued as "comps," while 657 remained unsold.
Pretty high number of comp'ed tickets and was still able to generate $3,468,440 from only 9,701 tickets sold. 1/3 of their total attendance was basically a complimentary ticket. I noticed this number has been going higher and higher recently in the Vegas shows, yet they still are able to generate money, which means those tickets must be REALLY expensive. This comes out to be about $360 per ticket sold.

No...
…I see the point. You’d obviously rather sell EVERY ticket possible. And yeah, it sucks that the average guy can’t afford tickets. But that’s how sporting events are generally. It’s shitty…but it’s a fact of life.

I hope the UFC is not trying to keep the average Joe six-pack from attending events.
