Diego Sanchez: I'm dropping down to fight at 155???
I'm not sure if his account is still hacked or not, but I would think he would wanna stay at 170 since he is so close to a title shot. I guess we'll find out soon enough if this was also a hacked message or legit....

I’m back!
So my account got hacked and it took a while to get it fixed, but I'm back. I'm training hard and will be dropping down to fight at 155. I will keep you all posted on the info of the fight! But I promise you all that I will do my best to win.

Close to a title shot? I dont know how wins over Bielkheden and Fioravanti get him close to a title shot. Not saying they don’t count for anything, just saying they don’t count for very much. Especially after he lost to Fitch and Kos previously to that.

Ummmm, if the fight with Alves went through then he would have had a title shot, so yeah, I would say thats pretty close to a title shot lol

But it didn’t. And he hasn’t fought any real contenders yet. Lets not talk in if and buts.
If its and buts were candy and nuts…. wait how does that go again?

“If "ifs” and “buts” were candy and nuts, wouldn’t it be a Merry Christmas?" seems to be attributed to Don Meredith (the American football player/commentator). To rephrase it: if all these reasons why we can’t do something were party foods instead of words, we could have a really great party.
It would seem to be patterned after “If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride” and “If I had a ‘coin’ for every ‘something’, I’d have ‘a lot of money’” (insert your favorite coin, something and amount of money).

What I was saying is, it was said that the winner of the Sanchez/Alves fight got a title shot, so how much closer can he be lol. He beat Parisyan, Riggs, Diaz, Florian and a bunch of other people, don’t say those guy’s aren’t top fighters, yeah riggs isn’t great, but he isn’t a bum lol. Both him and Alves deserved a title shot.

All those wins you listed were before he lost twice in a row to Kos and Fitch. That bumps him down the ladder. It’s not like he stays idle when he losses. Losses drop him down the ladder. With Bielkheden and Luigi he was trying to work his way back up. He was starting from almost 0. and on his current win streak he doesn’t really seem all that close to a title shot

His loss to Fitch was a close split decision.

I read this off his myspace earlier but was skeptical about it. He hadnt been logged in in so long and I know his account was hacked. It just doesnt make any sense since he was pegged in a number 1 contender match before. I dont believe it til its official.

After witnessing Kos get completely annihilated by Alves, would you want to stay at 170?

I doubt this is true.
Even with the losses, Diego is one or two fights away from a title shot. The two guys he lost to, and Alves, are the only three people really ranked ahead of him in the UFC WW rankings right now. Fitch already fought for the belt, Koscheck has fought GSP already, and Alves is fighting for the belt next.
Bottom line is, with Diego’s track record and his current two fights winning streak, if he wins two in a row against quality competition, we have ourselves a title shot. 155 is hugely stacked and Diego’s only WW losses have done to decisions and werewn’t because he was hugely overpowered.
He’s staying at 170.

Great points, Diego has not been finished or stopped in his two losses and his loss to Fitch was a close decision. I thought Diego won, but I Fitch did land a few more shots.

I’m also not going to believe it until something official is posted, but why would a hacker come on and mention the account being hacked….unless he is trying to confuse us lol

Been rumored for a while.
MMAweekly has a story confirming this possibility.

Dude, MMAweekly is using the same source we are: his myspace bulletin. And when they contacted his manager, his manager said nothing to confirm or deny it except “Diego is healthy and rehabbing an injury.”

Sorry, I didn’t even bother reading their article. I just added this so if people wanted to, they could see it was also being reported elsewhere.
I don’t know if it is true or not, and I don’t think Diego will ever wear the belt at WW or LW.

From his management: “Diego has made it know that he will fight at either 170 or 155. Either Weight. It is up to the UFC to decide.”
The point is the UFC has a bunch of top contenders at 155 right now and Diego still has shit to prove at 170. The UFC will not drop Diego to 155 until it makes sense and right now it doesn’t.

If anything it keeps the attention and draw some interesting fights since no one will be fighting for the title soon.

My sources tell me...
That Diego “The champion” Sanchez needs more people paying attention to his Myspace so it can get corrected when hacked

He should drop to 155. He would get KO’s by Alves, and he ain’t fighting GSP if he can’t gewt by Alves. He would have a much better chance against Ken Flo.
