Selected quotes of the above video interview at Zagreb airport from Nova TV translated at Free Fight Videos:
“Its just another fight. I have to follow my game plan. I cant exchange with a man that’s has such a big reach and weight advantage over me. I’ll be cautious.” explained Cro Cop.
“It’s a dangerous fight. Any one that size is dangerous. ”
When asked about his plans for 2009 Cro Cop replied;
“I don’t know. I’ll have to wait and see. I cant say anything right now. I’m just focused on this fight and we’ll see what happens after that.”
Despite his current form Cro Cop is the big favorite coming into this match.
Mirko Filipovic 1.35 vs Hong Man Choi 2.90
For you Americans that equates to a line of:
Mirko Cro Cop -200 vs Hong Man Choi +160.

As much as I love CroCop, Choi seems like a pretty good play at this line. The shots Choi landed on Fedor were legit and would have overwhelmed many fighters.

i think you are grossly underestimating the positive impact of all that sparring crocop did w/ a croatian basketball player….
now personally, i like to spar golfers when preparing for my mma matches….

CroCop
should be a huge favorite. He’s not going to go for a bodylock takedown and have Choi fall on top of him with all his weight. I would think his attack will be similar to Pat Barry’s was at UFC 92. Leg kicks, leg kicks, leg kicks, it’s just going to take a lot longer than Barry’s fight did to get the win.
