On behalf of everyone at BloodyElbow.com, I am delighted to inform our readers that MMAMania.com, one of the pioneers of MMA online news and analysis blogging and an industry leader, has officially joined the SB Nation as part of our growing combat sports league.

To have such a giant of a website within the MMA community join the SB Nation is absolutely fantastic news for MMA fans. Not only does this position the SB Nation as the definitive blogging home for the fast growing sport in the world, it also offers fans of MMA better content as BloodyElbow.com and MMAMania.com work together in 2009 and beyond. Soon. I think the migration to a new platform will take a little more time. We’ll also be getting a similar but ultimately different color scheme as well as some other new changes.

MMAMANIA was one of the first sites I latched onto. I loved the content but was never a fan of the mechanics of the site itself (the layout, how one makes posts, etc). Looking forward to seeing the merger. Good stuff guys!

Talk about some awful site names. Wow. Lets go from this site that has a name that has nothing to do with MMA to a site that could be MMA related, but is so violent in nature that some filters may block it even before they get to the content.

The IT guys at work put in a new filter system to block out certain websites about a month ago. I was worried BE would be blocked, but it turns out only the Youtube videos on the site are blocked. Lucky for me, cause if I didn’t have BE during work, I’d go postal.

I fear the MMA Junkie style commenters that linger in the MMA Mania comments will start crossing over. Which will frustrate me to no end in the long run.

as a MMA Mania poster and former runner of the MMAMANIA myspace, I am glad that MMA Mania has joined SB nation, and I can’t wait for it.

But as you said, the MMA Junkie style forum writers is very aggrivating to no end. But I wont start on that or MMA junkie.

mania > junkie

i don’t know what it is about mania, but I like their style better. it just seems a little more laid back, as opposed to junkie. I remember way back when Junkie just started, now theyre getting all mainstream with their partnership with Inside MMA. I still visit their blog every day don’t get me wrong, but mania and bloodyelbow are always my priorities due to their fan friendly vibe.

This is funny. I actually moved to get my mma info here instead of mmamania. That place has become overrun with meatheads. 2/3s of it is attacking eachother or complaining about eachother or the posts. Then they started doing advertising on the main posts. That was the last straw. Pretending like they’re using a product when it’s a paid piece is a huge mistake, so I took off. Please never do that BE. When I explained the problems with doing this kind of advertising they just censored my posts.
They get tons of people though so if you get some of them you’ll be getting lots more traffic.
