Griffin vs Evans

Believe me, I have always known Rashad is great, but my heart is always with Forrest. He’s got great sportsmanship- win or lose. I lost A LOT of respect for Rashad when he made that nasty gesture at Forrest (when Forrest was takin it to him) he embarassed himself, UFC & Dana White… I was truly disgusted…..So Mike Tyson- AFTER Tyson started falling off……

eh

I don’t like it either, but if it’s during the fight than it’s forgivable since it’s more like psychological attacks. “Do what you want, you can’t hurt me and I will eventually catch you.” I don’t think it’s disrespect, and I’ve seen many other fighters do similar.

It’s after the fights that the showboating bothers me, personally (which I didn’t see him do the other night)

hmm

after saying that, and reading further down comments, I didn’t notice the crotch grab part. I saw only the blowing a kiss… if he did grab his crotch first, yeah that’s pretty bad.

I am really biased here...

My admiration for Evans makes me hesitate to even try to respond to your comment. I was surprised when Evans grabbed his genitals and kissed his hand before hitting Griffin with a quick left hook after being hit with some Griffin’s best punches. I think it was Rashad’s way of saying, “You can’t knock me out, Fuck you..lol..You can’t hurt me!”. It was a huge psychological play as well. After Evans circled out, did you notice how Griffin wasn’t inclined to attack again. He took a big deep breath and headed out toward the center for like heading back to work after a short lunch break. You really have to credit Griffin for not losing his focus and going ape shit after Evan’s did it. Evan’s bothers a lot of people with his showboating. It’s kind of the “Mohammed Ali” type hype and antogonistic banter that you either love or hate. You may be embarassed for him but he isn’t embarassed at all.

"Stop smiling you are about to be punched in the face !"

The crotch grab was crass and certainly changed my opinion of Rashad.

I would hate for a first time viewer to think that is what MMA ffighters are like.

People just love

to find stuff about Rashad to hate on. Give the guy his props. It was in the heat of the moment and Rahsad just wanted to show Griffin “hey, all that shit you just threw at me did’t faze me.” Rashad is all class in interviews and press confrences, very professional. Also, +1 for sporting the suit again, Rashad. Thats how all the fighters should treat this sport. Arlovski, Ortiz, Evans and GSP know whats up.

agree.

Rashad just cant seem to get any respect for some reason. The guy is a sleeper, NO ONE gives him his due respect but he keeps on improving and developing his game and the way he takes advantage of the openings in a fight is very impressive.

I’ll agree to that. I’m one of them. I can’t explain why, but I simply don’t like the guy. It’s not the taunting, because I don’t mind it when guys can back it up, and he does, every time. It’s not because he’s a ‘wrestler guy’, since he’s been keeping it on the feet and sharp lately, there is no lay-n-pray in Rashad. It’s not because he’s black, since I have lots of black friends*. He just rubs me the wrong way and for the life of me I can’t see why. I guess it’s the nipple tweaks. That’s all I can think of…

As far as the gesture suggesting Forrest kiss his nuts? If Forrest didn’t have a problem with it, then I don’t.

*OK, that was a joke. I love it when people say that. Although I do have black friends and Rampage is one of my favorite fighters.

Funny stuff

“I know he’s not gonna let me keep on hitting him, and then he let me get one more and I was like, man he’s not defending, I think he might still be hurt – because he was smiling the whole time, you know, so I didn’t know if he was hurt or he was pretending so I was like, well I’ll just keep hitting him in the smiling face, and then he stopped smiling.

-Rashad
