Fedor, the UFC and Talking Out of My Ass
IMO Randy losing to Brock gives us the best chance of seeing Fedor in the UFC. As is ,i know there is next to ZERO chance that Dana ever lets the :"Krazy Russians" compete, but the only way there is even a remote chance is if Fedor signs a minimum three fight deal. Like wise, Fedor's motivation can be summed up as such:.
-Make an ass load of money and gain North American exposure
-Fight Randy Couture
-Shut up Dana and take his belt back to Russia
So on the night before the last PPV of the year, let's suspend our collective disbelif for just a moment imagine how this could possibly go down.
1st fight you feed Fedor a can or just whoever, it does not matter. Fedor on a UFC card = 500,000 buys even if the under card sucks(which it will have to in order to support the large purse Fedor will inevitably demand).. 2nd fight Fedor vs Randy. Once again, IMO this is something that both fighters have wanted for years(fans maybe even more so) and say what you will but you and every other person you know would watch that fight 1.2 million buys minimum.
Now this is where it gets a little bit tricky. If Fedor (if?) wins his first two fights now Dana still has the leverage to negotiate a contract extension before he gives Fedor a title fight. No extension, no third fight. Fedor gets a shit ton of money and exposure plus the added bonus of finally getting the fight he wants. Zuffa breaks some PPV records plus plugs up some potential holes in there 96-100 events.
Dana gets to feel like he won, which is the only way this or anything gets done in the UFC.

I don't think...
Fedor has nearly as much pull in America as you seem to. Randy would be the big part of that equation. I would like to see Fedor in the UFC like everybody else…however I just don’t see it. The UFC has re-stacked their HW division and Fedor is not quite the commodity he was even 6 months ago.
However if they sign “Edor” they could do 10 million buys, I hear that dude destroys.

Seriously. Any notion of Fedor being a big draw is badly misguided. Alone, without any other pulls on the card, he’ll get the standard UFC 250k buys. He’ll have to spend a number of fights being hyped by the UFC before he becomes an actual draw.

Fedor-Randy is a fucking execution
Lesnar-Emelianenko – that’s where the big bucks are.
Lesnar finds a way to beat Nog, beats Mir in a rematch (Randy, in my opinion, cannot beat the caliber HW he needs to in order to earn a rematch) and fights Fedor in December. That’s the dream.

The only way there is a remote chance...
For Fedor in the UFC is if Monte Cox let’s him fight only under the UFC umbrella and not co-promoting it with M-1, Adrenaline and Affliction.
Dana is doing a fine job. By 2010, people will forget the name Fedor. As if he is a draw in the US anyways.

I agree with you sir… all this hype with Fedor is going to go away soon…. as more people get into the sport and his competition gets worse and worse, they are going to see that he isn’t a “cyborg” but just a highly talented athlete that can crush the competition that is given to him. I don’t think I’ve heard of Fedor ever demanding a fight with anyone…. ever. he just fights who is presented to him.
The UFC HW division is the best in the world NOW…. Arlovski will come back, as will Barnett at some point. The up and comers (Carwin, Velasquez, Dos Santos) will be mainstay contenders in 2009 leading into 2010. Dana won in my opinion… he is building an awesome roster of competitors…emphasis on COMPETITORS in a division where most people flock to want to see the best.

I don’t think Monte Cox and Adrenaline have anything to do with Fedor anymore.

actually the only chance of seeing Fedor in the UFC is if he gets a couple losses on his record and actually needs the UFC…
and since his prime directives won’t allow that it seems unlikely….

Fedor comes to the UFC,
beats Randy and gets the exposure he needs amongst UFC fans, Randy retires,
Fedor then fights for the title and wins, against Nogeira,
Fedor then fights Lesner.
Eliot Marshall: Bader won. Like I said in the episode, I'm not going to make any excuses. It's my job to be able to deal with when somebody's doing that. It's not his job to change up his tactics.

Dana would never let Brock fight Fedor. Are you people crazy? Lesnar would get annihilated in the 1st round. Why in the world would Dana take that chance?

Cuz monkies are flying out of my butt...
Its “what if”… dude said at the beginning he knows there is no chance in it ever happening but there is always the discussion of “what if” it happened…. how would it play out?
Its an interesting point of view… but its all been done before and just about every MMA fan has played this out in their mind.
