DreamFighters.com was able to catch up with Thales Leites after mention that he could be fighting Anderson Silva at UFC 97. Here is what he had to say about the fight….
When asked if the rumors were indeed true:
Its true. We already have this fight set up with contract.
When asked about the fight with Anderson Silva:
I think is awsome can I can wait for.It will be a great fight where all tha fans will be able to see the true essence of the jiu jitsu and muay thay in the octagono.I’m varry happy with this fight.

The best, “pound for pound”, fighter in the world is gonna fight Thales Leites. What a tucking joke!! We are just the ufc’s bitch. If daddy says there’s no one left, then we just believe it.
That's just a big son of a bitch -- that's all there is to it.
I think the big fight at 185 is Marquardt, but they may be trying to build him up some more before they make the rematch. Hopefully some of these young guys will keep making noise as well.

He thrashed Marquardt last time they fought. i’m a nate fan and think he’s much improved since that first fight but still…
No doubt, that is why I think they are holding off and building Nate up some. I don’t know that Nate would have much of a chance, but i would say he has a better one than most other 185s. I don’t think that was representative of what we will see when the rematch happens. I expect a much better fight out of Nate 2nd time around.

Yet another edition of Anderson Silva’s “Dancing With The Stars” routine… maybe he’ll do the Mexican Hat Dance around Leites head after he knocks it off.
Marquardt could do better after another fight or two.
Maia…. best opponent out there right now.
Pity that Leites must be the next sacrificial lamb… should be entertaining to see… on YouTube at least cuz no way I’m paying to watch this fight.
The guys that have a chance are all in other organizations (except Maia and Hendo)
So Anderson has beaten everybody in the world and is clearly the #1 PfP with how he dominates his weightclass and is unbeatable.

These guys have a better chance then anybody else – (especially Manhoef)
